Bio

Ong JunXian is a passionate percussionist from Singapore, currently pursuing a diploma in music teaching at the Nanyang Academy of fine Arts (NAFA).  To further indulge in his love of music, JunXian has been an active member of the NAFA Wind orchestra Singapore National Youth Chinese Orchestra (SNYCO) for five years, where he currently serves as the Vice Head of Percussion. Throughout his time with the orchestra and in NAFA, he has performed in over numerous concerts, solo performances and even ensemble performances, honing his skills and gaining invaluable experience on both the national and international stage. 

In his role as Vice Head of Percussion, JunXian leads the percussion section, assists in organizing rehearsals, and helps to mentor younger musicians, refining his leadership and communication skills while passing on his knowledge to the younger generations. This role has deepened his understanding of teamwork, discipline, and musical direction within a large ensemble.
